Beauty masterclass inspired by make-up you already own

MY make-up bag was in need of a serious shake-up. Like most of the clothes in my wardrobe, I was giving the majority of my face paint the cold shoulder so I turned to Simi Sanghera of Bellissimi Beauty for a masterclass in how to fall in love with it all over again.

I hate to be thought of as predictable. The whole point of make-up is that anything goes – I wear clashing colours as well as dominant eyes and lips but I’m stuck in a rut. I wear my stunning Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita luxury palette of brown hues with an orange slick and my bare Minerals A List quad combined with a bright pink pout. Always.

It’s not that I intend to be boring but in the few minutes I have to scrabble a look together that will last all day, I’ve developed a ‘paint by numbers’ mentality.

Visiting a professional make-up artist is like gorging in a proverbial sweetie shop where you can sample treats that you would otherwise have to buy as well as running the risk of making a costly mistake. Simi (pictured left, above). She has an array of make-up that made my jaw drop.

While some might want to wallow in chocolate or a vat of wine, I’d be happy rolling around in her vast collection of blushers alone. Taking my two beloved eye shadow compacts she gave me two fresh new looks for summer  with a flattering sheer peach and a purple lip complimented by lashings of highlighter. Here’s how.
