Turn heads with wearable art by Jessica Langford

JESSICA Langford likes to call her stunning creations ‘wearable art’ rather than jewellery as she sees them as decorative pieces of art adorning the body.

Based in the North-East, she has worked with materials including, leather, silver, stoneware, rubber, glass, plastics and threads.

After developing passion for tactile jewellery and determined to create her own brand, she enrolled on a foundation degree at applied arts at Cleveland College of Art and Design (CCAD) where she learnt skills in ceramics, textiles and jewellery. Finishing with a distinction, she then decided to do an extra year to top it up to fully complete a BA Honours degree.

As well as making jewellery for her self named Jessica Langford brand, she is also doing a part-time teacher training course to reinforce her workshop delivery skills and is employed as the applied arts technician demonstrator at CCAD in Hartlepool.

She said: “I have always been passionate about art and wanted to create my own quality pieces, made by hand. After developing my own skills now appreciate art in a totally different way and can now see how much effort goes into a piece.”
